This Sunday afternoon we will have a World Changers meeting in the parlor. If you are going you need to be here for the meeting. We will meet at 5pm. If you are unable to attend please let me know prior to this Sunday so that I can get you some information. This meeting will help you gather all the things you will need for the trip.

The rafting trip is full we are taking 30 people rafting on the Chattooga River. Please do not forget your final payment is due this Sunday July 18th. In most cases your final balance is $130. Please get your money in no later than this Sunday. I have to make the final payment.

Only four spots remain for the rafting trip. The first students that lay claim to them can have them. It is going to be a great time. Remember the total cost for that weekend is $150.00. Give me a shout and bring me your $20 deposit to hold a spot for a friend.

Rafting 2010

The rafting trip is almost full... as of this morning we only have 6 spots left. If you have a friend that is in limbo tell them to hurry up and bring me a deposit. It is going to be a blast. We will leave after church on Wednesday Aug. 11th and return Friday Aug. 13th. The Total cost is $150 which includes your $20 deposit. If you have any questions about the trip please call me.

Jr. High Crew

Jr High posse just wanted to let you all know that on Sunday June 27th we will have our information meeting about SeeSalt. Just so you know you must be present with a parent to go on the trip. Please bring your insurance information with you as well. The meeting will be at 5pm in the church parlor.

A few extra notes about the trip:
1)Start praying now for the trip
2)Pray for Evelyn and her family as we minister to them(this the name of one of the people that lives in the house that we will be working on)
3)Be prepared to work hard this week
4)Expect to have the best time on a Mission trip ever

CrossTalk is Moving for the Summer

Just so no one gets confused CrossTalk student worship is moving to Wednesday night for the summer. We will still meet in the fellowship hall at 6:30pm. Please come join us for a time to hang out and worship with your friends.

Summer Chill '10

Its almost summer time guys and you know that means. Summer Chill is back. We will kick Summer chill off on June 6th over at Larry and Betty Moore's home. Summer chill shirts will be available for $5 a piece. Remember Summer chill starts right after church so make sure your here for evening worship and we will leave right after church. We will have an event every Sunday of the Summer. They are all going to be great so don't miss one.

Just for Parents

I realized not to long ago that I was doing half of my job. I was serving the students and dropping the ball with the parents so I dove in head first to help the parents. Below I am going to list some parent helps and resources. I will only post things that I have reviewed personally. If you have something you would recommend let me know I'll review and then add it to the list.

Magazines: Living with Teenagers: You can find this resource in the Welcome center magazine rack. The best part is it's free please take one... no take two and give one away.

Books: When it comes to books I have never been much of a reader, but out of submission to profs and well mostly submission to profs I have read these books and found them to be great resources for parents.

Peacemaking for Families by Ken Sande: Are you looking for a way to resolve conflict in your family. Here is a great biblical model for such as task.

Shepherding a Child's Heart by Tedd Tripp: An excellent book on raising a child from cradle to college. Trust me you can use this book even if you are getting a late start.

Come Back Barbara by John Miller and Barbara Miller Juliani: A book on dealing with a child that has walked away from there faith and how to love them through it. This book is written from two points of view the parent and the child. It helps the reader remember every story has two sides.

Age of Opportunity by Paul David Tripp: This book is focused on the teen years of child rearing. It is a call to parents to seize the chance to impact their lives from a Biblical standpoint.

When Good kids make Bad choices by Elyse Fitzpatrick and Jim Newheiser: At some time or another you might have heard someone make this remark. This is a book about how to deal with a child's poor choice, love them as they work through the challenge, and focus them back toward Christ.

Family Driven Faith by Voddie Baucham: Reader beware!!! This book will step on your toes no matter who you are. An excellent work on the family and the importance of Godly principles and leadership starting in the home.

Pamphlets: My kind of reading short, sweet, and to the point.

Single Parents: Daily Grace for the hardest job by Robert Jones: A short work on the life and issues that are present in a Single Parent family. Jones tackles this topic from the Biblical standpoint.
