D-now cost

What can you get for $25:
New Moon DVD (when it is released) $21
With the avg. cost of gas ($2.70) you can get 9 gallons of gas for $25
3 games of Laser tag $21
Two copies of Lynyrd Skynyrd's Greatest Hits $8 each (one for me and one for you)

So you see $25 wont get you a great deal of stuff when you spend it on your own, but if you give it to me look what it can do in a 3 day period: I can feed you for 3 days, give you a t-shirt, bring in a great speaker, get you in front of a sweet band, and all the fun you could ever want.

Registration for D-Now is open and last until Wednesday March 30th. You can get a registration form from me in person or I can email you one! Please bring your form and $25 to me as soon as you can.

February

Well I have to hand it to you all who stuck with the Saints they pulled it out. We had a great time at Russell and Laura's a big thanks to them for hosting us. If you were not their you missed out. We have a busy month a head so please do not forget about the opportunities to be involved with what we are doing at church.
Feb. 14th- The Valentines banquet- all youth participating please arrive at 5:30pm and wear black pants and a white shirt. We will be serving at the event. Please remember that some of the funds raised at the event will go to support the student ministry.
Feb. 19th- Winter Jam in Columbia- We will leave from the church at 3:30pm on Friday the 19th and head to Columbia. It will be late when we return from the event. Please bring money for dinner and if you want a shirt or something. Bring a friend or two.

New discipleship groups

Last night at CrossWalk we kicked off new discipleship groups. Each group is tackling a different book of the bible and growing deeper in our walk with Christ. Instead of 2 groups in the past we now have 4 groups. We have divided by gender and age. I am looking forward to a time of growth and renewal in our groups. Please come join us we want you to grow with us.

Super Bowl shin dig 2010

I think Hank has said it best "Are you ready for some football". It's that time of year again. Russell and Laura Fowler have so graciously opened their home to us. We will still have a normal schedule Sunday with pizza fest and CrossTalk. We will leave after CrossTalk and head out to Russell and Laura's we will hang out until 9pm and then make our way back to the church. So plan to bring your favorite snack and wear your Peyton Manning jersey or maybe your Reggie Bush one. We will have a great time watching the game and hanging out. Invite a friend or 20 the more the merrier.

A look ahead

Well we made it home from Chillipepper. I hope that you all had a great time. I know that I enjoyed getting to take you all to the event. The speakers and the bands were great. Please pray for Jay while he heals up.

Flash forward to the next several weeks....
Jan. 31st No CrossTalk Sunday night... Instead we will have a Chili-cook off at the Church meet in the Fellowship Hall at 5pm.
Feb. 7th is Superbowl Sunday we will be collecting canned goods(Souperbowl of Caring) for C.A.P that day. After CrossTalk we will head over to Russell and Laura Fowler's home to watch the game and hang out.
Feb. 14th Sunday evening will be our annual Valentines Banquet at the church. I need all of you to come out and help for this event. The proceeds from the event will be split between local missions and the student ministry. The money will go toward our Summer Mission trips and other events to come. I need pies and cakes for the auction after the meal. Please let me know what you plan to bring.
Feb. 19th Friday afternoon and night we will make our way to Columbia for Winter Jam. The cost is $10 at the door. We will meet at the church at 3:30pm to make the drive over. Please bring extra money for dinner and a t-shirt if you want one.
